  1. I read in your blog that you can’t climb the Hobbs peak in the background, is it because it is considered to be too dangerous?

    1. Yes, the south face is very steep and dangerous. The county government owns the land and has posted standard regulations. They request that hikers stay on the trails. They fear that inexperienced climbers on the rock wall might get hurt or killed. I have seen the alpine search and rescue team doing practice climbs on the peak though. A gentle ascent to the summit can be made up the backside of the mountain.
