Stadthuys in Malacca

If you are a Dutch, you will be able to understand the meaning of the word Stadthuys. It actually means city hall in Dutch.

Stadthuys or the Red Square was built by the Dutch in 1650.  It served as the administrative office of the Dutch Governor and Deputy Governor.

Most of the buildings here are well preserved and if you are there, you can visit the Malaka Art Gallery and the History and Ethnography Museum.
